6 GIFT IDEAS FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS for EVERY BUDGET

Are you scratching your head for gift ideas for your child? Are family members asking you what your child needs? Check out these items during your online shopping spree this weekend and think no more!

  1. HUGSLEEP

My husband ordered two of these when he saw them on Shark Tank: one for our son and one for himself. It just arrived so we’ve only tried it once but our son seemed quite cozy and calm in it. Think of it like a swaddle blanket for bigger folks! Click here to check it out!

  2. SENSORY BALL

Sensory balls have always been a favorite of mine because our son prefers this texture. They come in a variety of sizes to suit your child’s needs. You can find them at a number of stores, but he’s a link to a set from Bed Bath and Beyond….so you can use your 20% off coupon, of course!

  3. WHEELCHAIR BELL

We purchased one of these for our son for school and his nurse LOVES it. They love warning others they are about the turn the corner in the hallways and it makes being in the wheelchair almost a little fun! I just ordered a simple bicycle bell on Amazon for $5.99!! Click here to see it!

  4. NOISE-CANCELLING HEADPHONES

These are a must-have if your child is overwhelmed by noise. We use these both at school and at family gatherings to drown out the chatter. In fact, I even use them myself when trying to nap during the day!
NOTE: The option below is ONLY to drown out noise and does not connect to any music source, but you can certainly consider those that connect via Bluetooth for a 2 in 1 option. We have the ones below but Amazon has lots of options on sale right now if you type in “noise cancelling headphones for kids”. Click here for the brand I’ve used.

  5. BIBS

Many, many kids with special needs use bibs, but once they are older, the options are quite limited. Here’s an Etsy shop where I bought some larger cloth bibs about a year ago. I’m impressed with the quality, especially since they’re still going strong after countless washes!
Please note: The bib does NOT come with a pocket (arrow below). I created one below using dental clips from Amazon to decrease the mess-factor.

Click here to see go directly to CreativeQuiltsandEtc on Etsy to find this bib!

  6. TheEpicApp

This is a digital library app that I absolutely LOVE. Normally, I hate subscriptions, but this is the ONE subscription that I feel is worthwhile. WHY? Because you can choose books that have a “read to me” option. That means your child does not even need to touch the ipad to have a story read to him. It’s perfect for children who lack the dexterity to use a device!! They have science books, story books, joke books, and so many more. The subscription is normally $7.99/month but they are having a sale until December 6th for $4.99/month or $59.99 for a one-year subscription. You MUST check this out below.
